Responding to Native American Unit
During the next weeks of class, we will be investigating the Wampanoags while students in Ms. Anderson's class and Ms.Doyle's class investigate about Pacific Northwest Native Americans and the Cahokians, respectively.
We'll provide questions for consideration and you should respond with questions, comments, or other issues you'd like us to address in class.

1. Three things I learned are that the seats at the Potlach were organized according to the persons social position. Another fact I learned is that they believed that animals were humans that got scared and ran into the oceans and forests. Also I learned that if a powerful person dies, their slaves would be killed the same way their master died.
2. Wampanoags also believed that good and bad spirits inhabited that world.
3. Why did they think that social class was so important?
4. I thought that their web page was very interesting and had a lot of good information, but I also thought it would have been even better if they put pictures on the web page.
Great Job!

I looked at Daily Life for Ms. Doyle's 8/9.
1. Three things that i learned about the Cahokians were, one, they lived by the Mississippi River, two, their leader's name was the Great Sun, and three, they Cahokians only ate a small variety of foods.
2. One similarity between the wampanoags and the cahokians is that they only hunted what they needed. One difference between them is that they lived on different parts of the country.
3. They should answer: What kind of dances did they do, were the dances religion?
4. I really like how they used different colors for each of the subtopics. They should have added a title at the very top.

I looked at the Daily Life from Ms. Anderson's 8/9.
1. Three things that i learned were, one, they mostly wear clothes made out of cedar bark, two, they take hides made out of walrus or seal, stretch it out and use it as a trampoline, and three, they invented the totem pole.
2. They are both located by an ocean.
3. Were the games played by the children, the adult, or both?
4. They could have used columns to make the text more readable. I liked the background and the text colors.
